WHITE HORSE TAVERN – 567 HUDSON STREET, NEW YORK NY 10014

The White Horse Tavern (founded circa. 1890) is a bar and eatery on Hudston Street in New York's West Village. It was a favorite drinking hole for poets like Dylan Thomas and regular venue for the young beats Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Bukowski got drunk there once or twice too.

CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 – GLOBAL DAILY CASES, CRITICAL, DEATHS, RECOVERED and TESTING COUNTS

"We simply don't have the testing capacity for the large numbers dying at home. Now only those few who had a test confirmation *before* dying are marked as victims of coronavirus... means we are undercounting the total number of victims of this pandemic." - Mark Levine, Chair of New York City Council health committee.

In the year 2055, time travel has become a practical reality, and the company Time Safari Inc. offers wealthy adventurers the chance to travel back in time to hunt extinct species such as dinosaurs. In the shadow of a Presidential election, the spectre of America's first Fascist candidate looms. CORONAVIRUS COVID-19: CONFUSING OBSERVATIONS FROM MID-MARCH 2020 – YOUR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

It must be such a thrill to be living through these coronavirus days, with the shared enemy non-human and politically, the media-driven panic a protracted break in routine and an excuse for proactive hoarding of food and toiletries. Universal fear-mongering media clickbait feeds the public just enough useful facts to keep everyone unbalanced, needy and glued to their information streams. It's a godsend for populations used to the past few years diet of unrewarding tribal bickering on social media and workaday toil. In a way, it's the ultimate evolution of the reality show.

UNITED STATES, EUROPE, CHINA – ECONOMIES IN PARALLEL

Europe and the United States are the two largest economic blocs. I found this interesting map showing how the European countries would map onto the 50 United States, by equivalent GDP. Plus a few notes on China's wealth as a nation versus a Chinese individual.

REALITY, MYSELF AND I

Human beings aren't computers. We calculate slowly. Our memories are fallible. Our brains struggle to work with anything over a few variables at the same time without having to use external aids (pieces of paper, calculator, spreadsheet etc). Does this mean we're living on borrowed time, like the mainstream mass media would have us believe?

CAT’S PAW POLITICS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Sometimes seems like the Tories have paid off much of the opposition, to make a pig's breakfast of credible challenge to the relentless two-party dictatorships of the 40%. There's 81-114 seats like those in the attached PNG. I've not seen it discussed anywhere, which is crazy.

Why Dwell On It Once You See It And Know It Has No Silver Lining?

No-one would have believed, in the first decades of the 21st century, that our world was being watched from a point in space barely a few trillion miles beyond the heliosphere of our life-giving sun. "The summer sun is fading as the year grows old and darker days draw near, But only few seem so … Continue reading Why Dwell On It Once You See It And Know It Has No Silver Lining?

World Is Getting Better, Anglosphere Is Not

According to Steven Pinker, the world is actually getting better. Pinker uses history and statistics to outline world trends that position progress within a broader context. With all of the data Pinker has collected, he suggests the world is actually getting better. Is it?
