MA / Alex Ecce Voce

A.E.V. began scribbling in his teens, a typically brash adolescent with a left-field penchant for shared psychedelia in the company of machine elves. What started with microdose psilocybin, skipping school and playing out a succession of strange relationships in suburban dolls house became an American walkabout – smoking cheap non-filters, whittling away long humid afternoons across the white South – and then morphed overnight into an even more bizarre existence in the Candyland. Books replaced dimethyltryptamine, Dunhill International edged out Winstons and seasons of mist and mellow fruitfulness gave way to the dry heat of the Sunset Strip, Shakespeare, spicy yellowtail and years of wild oats in the adult world.
